Learning professional development

Game's Steam page

Frostpunk was my first professional game project, where I joined the team as a QA Tester. It gave me the opportunity to learn how large commercial games are developed; from production workflows and cross-discipline collaboration to playtesting, bug reporting, and the importance of iteration throughout development.

Working closely with designers every day also gave me a much better understanding of why features are built the way they are, not just whether they work correctly.

Transition into Design

Towards the end of the project, I transitioned from QA into a Junior Game Designer role and joined the team working on The Last Autumn expansion.

It was an excellent opportunity to learn directly from experienced designers while gradually taking on more design responsibilities. My main tasks included gathering and analysing player feedback, preparing balance reports, supporting gameplay iteration, and helping improve systems based on both internal and community feedback.
